Heather Lamanno has been documenting and visually exploring urban landscape since graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2007. Her recent body of mixed media landscapes explore the visual complexities of urban infrastructure and the recent growth of the great “Paris of the Plains”. For the past decade Lamanno has been an active member of the KC arts community. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Have I been here before? curated by Jamilee Polson Lacy in 2012. She was selected for the Urban Culture Project Studio Residency program in 2009, and Arts Inc. Live! in 2014. Lamanno was also a Museum Educator for the youth programs at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art for 5 years, before leaving in 2014 to focus on her family and their artistic endeavors. Lamanno resides in Kansas City with husband and fellow artist Daniel Lough, and their five children.
